Fiery-eyed lake monsters of the West
Ilive in land-locked Colorado, so whenever I’m in California visiting my family, we always make it a point o spend time at the coast. If we drive
north from the Los Angeles area, we
always enjoy a walk along the beach
at Santa Barbara because we almost
always see something fun and unique
to photograph. Over the years we’ve
seen squadrons of brown pelicans,
scoops of black skimmers, a cotil-
lion of elegant terns, a congress of
American crows, and congregations
of black-bellied plovers.
